Bigstockphoto_I_Wrapped_It_Myself_2112140 If this is your first year as a single parent you may be wondering what to do about a gift this holiday season from your child/children for their other parent. Today I am honored to write another guest blog post for the Divorce Recovery Advice Blog titled “Divorce Recovery Advice – Helping Your Child with a Gift for Your Ex-Spouse?”  Have you thought about what gift your child might give your ex-spouse? Have you discussed this subject with your child/children? Have you traditionally bought gifts from your child/children for the other parent? Has your child/children been involved in the process?

Helping your child buy or make a gift for your ex-spouse may not be something you want to do, yet it is something you should do for the child/children. I realize you may be less than enthused about this idea. You may have legitimate reasons for being unhappy with your ex-spouse, especially if you are in the middle of a divorce or recently completed the process. Never the less, you need to put your feelings aside and think of the child/children. This is when you need to forgive, swallow your pride, if necessary, and be the responsible parent.
